Getting Started

NANA WorleyParsons Engineering and Design Training and Internship Program is a multi- dimensional approach to outreach, recruiting, education, training, development and employment of Alaska Natives or their descendants in technical positions of drafting, design and engineering.

NANA WorleyParsons has provided summer internship opportunities for our clients over the last six years. For ConocoPhillips we have hosted four summer interns over three summers enrolled in the ANSEP Summer Bridging program. In the summer of 2011 we hosted a summer project engineering intern for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.

During the summer of 2014, NANA WorleyParsons provided two (2) internship opportunities in conjunction with NANA Development Corporation (NDC) through the Shareholder Education and Development (SHED) department. The interns worked on our projects from clients such as ConocoPhillips and BP Exploration.

If you are interested in furthering your education through a post-secondary institution, vocational school, on-the-job training, or through internships and need financial assistance, NANA WorleyParsons may be able to provide you with the funding you need.

NANA WorleyParsons provides a Training scholarship to support student enrollment in drafting certification programs. AutoCAD drafting is the primary technical software used in the engineering service industry for creation of designs for oil and gas facility construction and maintenance. People receiving training funding are assigned a mentor who tracks the student's success on a monthly basis, offering guidance, assistance and encouragement.

A scholarship for Alaska Native student enrolled in engineering degree programs is also offered by NANA WorleyParsons. Engineers are employed by Alaska companies focusing on Oil and Gas exploration and production, pipeline service, field support, engineering and design, infrastructure design and many other areas of the oil and gas industry.

Internships with NANA WorleyParsons provide students with insightful views into the career opportunities within our company and the engineering industry. Internships also provide students their initial exposure to professional environments with integrated and dynamic work teams. Our goal for the interning student includes presenting a well-rounded experience with exposure to various disciplines of engineering, visits to the field or construction sites and inclusion in the project management aspect of design production.
